There is no science orthodoxy.  Science is an iterative process, and we are always learning and refining our understanding.  There is a body of work to which there is an established orthodoxy for which people are cast out for not believing in, and that is religion.  Religion has no place in science.  Or to be more accurate, this kind of thinking that is associated with religion, has no place i n science.
